Syn znanego i cenionego aktora Jerzego Stuhra, początkowo nie przejawiał zainteresowania aktorstwem, obierając jako kierunek studiów psychologię na Uniwersytecie Jagiellońskim w Krakowie. Jeszcze w szkole średniej założył wraz z przyjaciółmi kabaret "Po żarcie", który występował na wielu przeglądach, choćby krakowskiej "Pace". Choć nie jest zawodowym aktorem (dopiero w 1999 zaczął studia na Wydziale Aktorskim PWST w Krakowie) ma na swoim koncie sporą ilość występów w przedsięwzięciach filmowych. Debiutował w "Dekalogu X" Krzysztofa Kieślowskiego rolą Piotrka. W filmowej adaptacji "Przedwiośnia" Filipa Bajona według Żeromskiego udowadnia, że jest "skażony genetycznie" dobrym aktorstwem.
