Luis Prendes - BIOGRAPHY
Hermano de las actrices Mari Carmen y Mercedes Prendes, su vocación primera fue sin embargo la carrera militar, iniciando estudios de oficial de la marina mercante. En sus primeros años como actor se integra en la compañía de su hermana Mercedes y en las de Carmen Díaz y Concha Catalá. Tras finalizar la Guerra Civil Española comienza una etapa de gran actividad tanto en cine como en teatro. Se convierte en primer actor del Teatro María Guerrero, hasta que en 1946 consigue formar compañía propia. Entre los éxitos con los que cuenta sobre un escenario, figuran las obras La visita de la vieja dama,1 Todos eran mis hijos y Los árboles mueren de pie. En cine su etapa más prolífica se sitúa en las décadas de los años 1940 y 1950, cuando alcanza es estatus de galán en numerosas comedias de Ignacio Farrés Iquino, Alejandro Ulloa o José María Forqué. Igualmente fue un rostro habitual en los primeros años de Televisión Española donde se prodigó con frecuencia en espacios como Estudio 1, Novela y series como Historias para no dormir (1966) o Visto para sentencia (1971).
