Julio Pena - BIOGRAPHY
Actor, nacido en Madrid el 12 de junio de 1912. Hijo del actor Ramón Peña. Finalizados sus estudios de Bachillerato en el colegio de los Escolapios de San Antón, entra como meritorio en el Teatro Infanta Isabel y debuta en escena con quince años de edad. Recorre el territorio español con la compañía de su padre y regresa al Infanta Isabel, en donde se encuentra cuando lo llaman de la Paramount para trabajar en Joinville. Contratado por la MGM, llega a Nueva York, camino de Hollywood, el 22 de octubre de 1930 en el «Ile de France», pero sólo interpreta dos papeles muy breves. Después de terminar «Mamá» en Fox, firma un contrato con dicho estudio por seis meses, a partir del 22 de julio de 1931, que se cancela el 30 de noviembre sin haber intervenido en ningún film. Permanece en California hasta 1935, año en que se incorpora al cine español como figura protagonista, participando también en repartos de varias producciones extranjeras cuyo rodaje tiene lugar en España. Casado desde 1953 con la actriz Susana Canales. Financia cuatro películas a través de su firma Peña Films. Fallece en Marbella (Málaga) el 22 de julio de 1972.
