Rutkay Aziz - BIOGRAPHY
Rutkay Aziz, 1947 yılında İstanbul' da doğmuştur. Asıl adı Aziz Rutkay' dır. Avusturya Lisesi'nde soyadı, addan önce okunduğu için ismi Rutkay Aziz olarak söylenegelmiştir. Avusturya Lisesi' ni bitirdikten sonra Bakırköy Lisesi' ne kaydoldu. Lisans öğrenimini Galatasaray Üniversitesi Gazetecilik Fakültesi' nde tamamladı. Tiyatroya lisede öğrenim gördüğü yıllarda başladı. Muhsin Ertuğrul yönetimindeki LCC tiyatro okulunda tiyatro eğitimi aldı. İlk tecrübe deneyimini Peter Weiss'ın "Marat-Sade" oyunundaki "Marat" rolüyle yaşadı. Tiyatro hayatına 1971 yılından itibaren Ankara Sanat Tiyatrosu' nda devam etti. 1973 yılında yine bu tiyatroda sanat yönetmenliği ve yönetmenlik yapmaya başladı. İlk sinema deneyimini 1987 yılında "Yer Demir Gök Bakır" filmiyle yaşadı. Ziya Öztan' ın yönettiği hem sinemada hem de televizyonda dizi halinde yayınlanan "Cumhuriyet" filminde Mustafa Kemal ATATÜRK rolünü oynadı. İyi derecede Almanca ve Fransızca bilmektedir. Şiir okuma ve yazma uğraşları arasındadır. Tiyatro faaliyetlerinin yanı sıra 2004 yılından beri ATV'de yayınlanan Avrupa Yakası adlı dizide Çapkın Bülent karakterini canlandırmıştır.Nazım Hikmet Kültür ve Sanat Vakfı 'nın başkanıdır.
